PLAN - Professional Latino Action Network
In April of 2004, two Latina social workers formed a Latino Professional Network for the purpose of bringing together individuals such as social service providers, teachers, nurses or other professionals who were either working with or interested in working with Latinos. The first couple of meetings were brainstorming sessions regarding issues that affected Latinos in St. Louis. Attendees shared experiences while identifying strengths and needs in the community and how this population could be better served. The current co-leaders who facilitate the monthly meeting are Sergio Munoz of St. Patrick Center, John Galatoire of the Human Development Corporation (HDC) or Eileen Wolfington who works in Community Affairs.
